The Farmer
A humble farmer appeared seeking visas for himself and his two sons. He had been denied visas twice before. The sons had been scheduled for surgery in the United States, because a university physician, who was conducting research on their problem, had volunteered to do it. The notes made by the consul at the prior interviews said nothing about the surgeries. When asked why he had not told prior consul about the surgeries, the farmer answered that he had not been asked! MyUSConsul’s founder was the consular officer who finally researched the case, actually talked to the doctor, and approved the visas, changing the lives of two children who are hopefully healthier and happier. Had MyUSConsul existed at the time, maybe we could have helped the farmer convey his message clearly the first time, without arrogance or excessive humility. We want to help you talk so that Consular Officers will listen.
